Autonomic Response Testing (A.R.T.)

At Bay View Health & Wellness, we focus on identifying and clearing harmful toxins and lingering infections that may be interfering with your ability to heal. These may include mold, heavy metals, environmental pollutants, and even long-term exposure to electronic frequencies. We’ll guide you in understanding how these toxins impact your health and share practical steps to help you gently and effectively remove them.

A.R.T. involves assessing the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), which regulates involuntary functions such as heart rate, breathing, and digestion. Muscle tone—tension or relaxation—is a direct expression of the ANS and its sympathetic (stress) or parasympathetic (rest) activity. By observing how muscle strength changes when various substances or challenges are introduced into a client’s biofield, practitioners are able to interpret the energetic feedback from the body.

These responses help uncover the hidden stressors that often underlie chronic illness, including toxic burden, infections, food intolerances, organ dysfunction, and unresolved emotional trauma. With this insight, practitioners can prioritize which imbalances to address first, creating targeted protocols that neutralize stress and support the body’s natural healing – rather than merely suppressing symptoms.

A.R.T. is not only a diagnostic method but also a guide for therapeutic progress. Follow-up sessions help track improvements and identify shifting priorities as the body heals, allowing for dynamic, personalized care that supports deep and lasting wellness.

Five Levels of Healing

Dr. Klinghardt developed this systematic model of healing in the 1980s and has been teaching it to practitioners worldwide ever since. This model combines Western and Eastern knowledge about our bodies, health, and energy. Few individuals get well from supplements alone. A practitioner must also consider their energetic and psychological well-being.

There is a profound interaction between the five levels, where unresolved issues in one level can create dysfunction in another. For example, it is well established that thoughts trigger emotions, which in turn cause changes in the physical body. It is important to uncouple or disconnect the memory and emotions of traumatic events from the autonomic nervous system—many of which have been suppressed in the subconscious—in order to address the biochemical consequences of emotional distress.

Bay View Health & Wellness follows this model to guide clients toward true healing.

Direct Resonance

One of the core techniques used by an A.R.T. practitioner is Direct Resonance. The phenomenon of Direct Resonance was first described in the 1940s by researchers at Columbia University as part of the Manhattan Project. Their work in nuclear physics revealed that a unique resonance occurs between two identical substances when a specific vibrational frequency aligns with its corresponding energetic field.

This principle was later applied to biological systems by Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, who published his findings in the International Journal of Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics Research. Dr. Omura demonstrated that when a substance placed within the body’s biofield resonates with an identical substance already present inside the body, it results in a measurable change in muscle strength.

In this way, resonance becomes a kind of energetic “dialogue,” enabling the practitioner to detect hidden stressors—such as microbes, toxins, or environmental burdens—at a vibrational level. This approach allows for precise identification of imbalances and helps guide individualized healing strategies with remarkable accuracy.

Direct resonance is also used to energetically assess whether a supplement is effectively reaching its intended target organ. If it is not, specific strategies are implemented to support its proper delivery and absorption.

This is where Autonomic Response Testing truly shines—by uncovering subtle barriers that might otherwise go unnoticed and helping ensure each intervention is effective. This step is essential to achieving optimal health.

Light Coherence

Every cell in the body naturally produces tiny particles of light called biophotons. These biophotons play a vital role in cellular communication, allowing tissues and organs to work together in harmony. Healthy cells emit light that is coherent and orderly, while stressed or unwell cells give off light that is scattered and chaotic. A.R.T. helps identify areas in the body where this natural coherence has weakened and explores ways to restore balance.
